Terms of Service

The agreement, in plain English.

Last updated: April 10, 2026

The short version. Sessions are 45 minutes. Cancel free up to 12 hours before. Same tutor every session unless you ask to switch. Be kind to your tutor and she'll be kind to your kid.

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are between you and A & S Elevated Learning, the tutoring practice run by Ms. Hutchinson and Mrs. Munoz. By booking a session or creating an account, you agree to everything below.

What we provide

One-on-one tutoring sessions for K–5 students in Math, Reading, and Writing. Sessions run 45 minutes and happen either in person (in select neighborhoods) or online via a video link. Each session is led by a certified, background-checked teacher.

Booking and payment

  • Sessions are paid in full at booking time via Stripe. You'll see the exact amount before you confirm.
  • Payment goes directly to your tutor — we take zero platform fees.
  • If a payment fails or expires, the time slot is automatically released.
  • Receipts are emailed to you and viewable any time by replying to the confirmation email.

Cancellation and refund policy

  • More than 12 hours before the session: cancel free, full refund. Just reply to your confirmation email or contact us.
  • Less than 12 hours before: we ask you to honor the booking so the tutor is paid for the time she's set aside. Of course, life happens — if your child is genuinely sick, just let us know and we'll do our best to reschedule.
  • If your tutor cancels: you get a full automatic refund.
  • If you'd like to switch tutors: email us anytime. We'll arrange a session with the other tutor at no extra charge so you can find the right fit.

What we expect from each other

From us, every time:

  • Show up on time, prepared, and present
  • Treat your child with patience and respect
  • Communicate honestly about progress
  • Keep what your child shares private

From you:

  • Make sure your child is ready and in a quiet, focused environment at session time
  • Cancel as early as you can if something comes up
  • Pay on time
  • Treat the tutor with respect — we won't tolerate harassment of any kind

Recording and privacy during sessions

Online sessions may not be recorded by either party without explicit consent from both the parent and the tutor. The tutor will never share your child's image, work, or words publicly.

What we are (and aren't)

We're a tutoring service. We help kids strengthen academic skills in Math, Reading, and Writing. We are not a substitute for special education services, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological evaluation, or medical advice. If your child has needs beyond what tutoring can address, we'll tell you honestly and help you find the right resources.

Account responsibility

If you create a parent account, keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for activity that happens under your login. If you think someone else has accessed your account, email us right away and we'll lock it down.

Limitation of liability

We try our best in every session, but we can't promise specific academic outcomes — every kid learns at their own pace. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to this service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 90 days. None of this affects any rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time, and we can stop providing it to anyone whose behavior makes that necessary (rare, but it happens). If we end your account, you'll get a refund for any unused, prepaid sessions.

Changes to these terms

If we ever change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the "last updated" date and email everyone with an active account. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are written in plain English as a starting point for a small tutoring practice. If you operate in a state with specific tutoring, childcare, or consumer-protection requirements, please have a local lawyer review them before relying on them.
